In 2018 Graham Bolton, age four, ran in his first Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K! With the support of Mom (Christina), Dad (Chris) and Dog (Puck), Graham trained with running, walking, cross-training on the trampoline and more to prepare for the Ellicott City Turkey Trot race course!
When asked what motivated him to get involved, he said he wanted to see if he could finish the race, but he was mostly motivated by charity. Graham not only finished the race but raised over $1,000 all of which went to benefit children and adults throughout central Maryland who need help affording Y programs that keep them safe, engaged and healthy.
Graham is back to conquer 2020 and has started both his training and fundraising! He’s ready to take on the virtual Y Turkey Trot and is going to run the 5K with his family and friends in their neighborhood while also challenging his friends, family and neighbors to join his fundraising team as well! His goal this year is to raise $2,000!
“The need for fundraising is important, this year now more than ever as we have seen so many families, children and community members been affected by Covid-19. And we have also seen the efforts and outreach the Y has done as well during this time and thank it’s wonderful what you all have done for the community. So we as a family are doing our best to reach out and help through Turkey Trot. Graham is excited to participate but also raise even more this year!”
We are not only inspired and appreciate Graham’s fundraising efforts, but appreciate Chris Bolton’s company, Bolton (an employee benefits consulting firm) who is supporting sponsor of the event as well.
We are wishing Graham and his family a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving and cannot wait to share in Graham’s success!
